After the Munkeby in November, here is Norway again, but quite different from Cistercian brother Joël’s intensely aromatic, soft cheese. That referred to the traditions of the order in France, while Frode Hindrum and Liese Mathiesen take their inspiration from the „wide world“ and then adapt it to Norwegian conditions on Frode’s family’s old farm. Und schon wieder ist es Ostern und April, und wieder – noch immer – liegt sooo viel Ungewissheit vor uns. Deshalb muß zumindest robuster Käse aufs Brett, Käse, der einem diesen gut gemeinten Knuff in die Rippe versetzt, „Kopf hoch“ sagt, ein bißchen streichelt und doch zugleich auch anschiebt wie eine Böe frischer Rückenwind beim morgendlichen Joggen. Jawohl, der Käse des Monats ist ein Museum… weil HeinzelCheese gerade in Aberystwyth im Westen von Wales ist und dieses Heimatmuseum (klingt verstaubt, ist es aber nicht) einen fantastischen Einblick in die Butter- und Käsegeschichte zu bieten hat. Das Ceredigion Museum ist in einem ehemaligen Theater untergebracht und stellt das Alltagsleben der Menschen dieser (wunderschönen) Ecke von Wales anhand von Gebrauchsgegenständen dar. » Weiterlesen…
