If this was a tweet, it would include the hashtag #veryhappyauthor: my Bratwurst book kid is indeed doing very well out there in the big wide world. In October the genial Tom Jaine included a very generous review in the latest issue of the classic Petits Propos Culinaires, November saw Elisabeth Luard writing about it in that charmingly British magazine The Oldie, complete with recipes and one of her lovely drawings. And then on the afternoon of the first Advent Sunday, my twitter account went a little viral when Diana Henry was letting the world know about it being amongst the Sunday Times Books of the Year.
To be included there, next to Diana’s own wonderful book, A Change of Appetite, Meera Sodha’s Made in India, Michael Ruhlman’s Egg and above all the great Honey & Co by Sarit Packer and Itamar Srulovich is a great honor. And it’s spurning me on, as I’m working on the translation of the German edition, to be published in time for the Frankfurt book fair in October 2015 – watch this space.
Huge congratulations to you – both very well deserved accolades, I absolutely loved your book. And I can’t imagine how wonderful it must be to see your recipes illustrated by Elisabeth Luard – what a dream!!
Thank you! And season’s greetings from Berlin to Wiesbaden, home of my German publisher Tre Torri.
